GRANVILLE, TN — The 12th Annual Granville Heritage Day will be held on May 29, 2010 and the theme will be “The Wheels Of the Granville Journey” as a grand day of celebration is planned with fun for everyone. This event occurs in the historic riverboat town of Granville on the banks of the Cordell Hull Lake and Cumberland River with great historic buildings telling the story of yesteryear. The event will be held from 9am to 5pm with Sutton Ole Time Music Hour at Sutton General Store following this event with their weekly bluegrass dinner show.

The day will include the “Uncle Jimmy Thompson Bluegrass Festival” which includes a full day of Bluegrass competition with the well know WSM Radio announcer Eddie Stubbs the MC of the event. Bluegrass bands will play following the competition.
Festival PhotoThe event is known for it large Antique Car Show with over 225 cars in competition being displayed overlooking the Cordell Hull Lake. There are over 40 classes of competition with three place trophies awarded in each class. The event also includes a Antique Tractor and Engine show with unique awards. A parade is held at 10am through the historic towns
Mainstreet.

A new addition to the festival this year will be the Hot Brass Military Band Concert, scheduled for 1pm at the Granville Veterans Park as well as Civil War Demonstrations and cannon shooting. An Arts festival has also been added that will feature over 50 local artists with booths outside the
Sutton General Store and the Arts & Cultural Center. Art of all types with be for sale with artists demonstrating their many talents. Storytellers
will be sharing stories of years past in the Down Memory Lane Park.

The event is day of fun for all ages with children rides, petting zoo, train, craftsmen demonstrations, Blacksmith shop, craft booths, great food of all types, memorial service, school reunion and much more.
