WILKESBORO, NC - Wilkes Playmakers announces the show dates for “Tom Dooley: A Wilkes County Legend” on July 1-3, 6-11 & 13-17, 2010. The play written and directed by Karen Reynolds takes to the stage at the Fort Hamby Outdoor Amphitheatre that has been reconstructed to a 900 seat amphitheatre.
People nationwide have been intrigued by the Tom Dooley story for over a century. The murder of Laura Foster in the Elkville community, now known as Ferguson, NC, was one of the nation's first highly publicized crimes of passion.
