RUTLEDGE, TN - The Grainger County Tomato Festival was organized in 1993 to promote Grainger County Tomatoes and to provide exposure for area artists, craftsman and non-profit organizations. Over the years a number of special events have been added to make the festival one of the largest free festivals in East Tennessee. This year the Grainger County Tomato Festival will be held on July 23-25, 2010 at Rutledge Elementary School, Highway 11W, Rutledge, Tennessee.

Events include the Tomato Wars, where rotten tomatoes will be flying all over the place at 40 mph; 5K run; quilt show, art & history exhibits with working artists & historians, antique car show, author signings, rock climbing, old time farming exhibit, beauty pageant; and our local coffin maker. There will also be two stages with continuous live music and numerous food and arts and crafts vendors.

Festival PhotoProceeds from the festival support local charities, including the Rutledge Lions Club, Special Olympics and local civic groups.
