North Carolina Gold Festival
April 9 -
10 2010
Marion, NC
MARION, NC — The North Carolina Gold Festival will be held on April 9-10, 2010 and celebrates our golden heritage. NC was the 1st state to mine for GOLD. Thousands of miners flocked to NC in the early 1800’s to find golden nuggets in hopes of matching the one famed in 1799 by 12yr old Conrad Reed in the Meadow Creek located in Cabarrus County. That was the beginning of gold mining in not only NC but the US.This year we expect several 1000’s to attend to learn to pan and buy the latest mining equipment from some of the leading equipment vendors. There are always great vendors and food galleries of all types – Lots of fun and games for young and old. Music is always a big part of the festival. Sponsors and volunteers are always welcome and vendors please check with us and see if this is where you need to be. |
