DOVER, N.C. - The Town of Dover is having a Dover area 2010 Reunion Street Festival which will begin at 3:00 pm on Friday, July 16th, and will run through 6:00 pm, Sunday, July 18th, 2010. They are inviting families back to Dover from the Dover, Fort Barnwell, Cove City, New Bern, Jasper, Grifton, Ernul, Pleasant Hill, Rhems and Vanceboro, with the hope of reuniting its existing and previous families. The growing town will showcase Craven, Pamlico and the other eastern North Carolina Counties in promoting the beauty and advantages of relocating to this area. There will be national, regional and local musical entertainers, commercial and food vendors and a carnival. Most events are free and all are open to the general public. In celebration of New Bern's 300th Anniversary, the Dover NC 2010 Reunion will be sponsoring outdoor beach music and jazz concerts in New Bern on Friday, July 16th, and Saturday, July 17th. There will be a minimal fee for the outdoor New Bern concerts. Free musical and other entertainment will be continuous in the Town of Dover during the entire reunion festival weekend. Guests may expect performances on Friday, July 16, 2010, by The Showmen, Blue Moon Jazz Quartet w/Stephen Franckevich (trumpeter), The Catalinas, Billy Scott & The Party Prophets and Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs. On Saturday enjoy performances by DJ Coleslaw, Band of Oz, The Embers, Tight End Band and Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards- 9:00 - 10:15 (Currently negotiating contract). On Sunday enjoy Total Praise, Heavenly Sunrise, New Diamond Jubilee and The Daughety Family. |
