 Create a tradition with family or friends and enjoy the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce's annual Oyster Festival, Saturday, October 9, 2010. The event is held to promote the seafood industry and mark the arrival of the oyster season. One will delight in sampling local oyster on the half-shell, steamed, single-fried, fritters , steamed crabs, clam fritters, clam chowder, hush puppies, potato salad and much more. There will be live entertainment for everyone's enjoyment and the “Best Place/Space Award” is always a favorite. Food is served from noon until 4:00 p.m. and the festival is held rain or shine.
