May 29 - 30 2010

Banner Elk, NC

BANNER ELK, NC — The 2nd Annual Banner Elk Herb Festival will kick off the summer season in Banner Elk, North Carolina on May 29-30, 2010. The event was begun by Holly Palm a year ago after moving from the Virgin Islands. She began as a North Carolina vendor distributing a organic play dough kit called Yohoho Dough with her sons. The family was fascinated not only by culinary herbs but by all of the different ways herbs are used in today's culture. Her husband owns a very chic tapas restaurant in Banner Elk called Zuzda which uses herbs, so it was only natural to begin an herb festival. During the spring and summer months Banner Elk is the quiescence of a "Norman Rockwell" town.

Enjoy two fun days of healthy herbs featured in an array of products. Attendees may browse art vendors, organic products, commercial vendors and antiques. A kids’ zone will keep the kiddies occupied and great food will draw the crowds. Some great acts are already lined up but musicians interested in playing at the Herb festival may send a demo to:
BEHF 140 Dugger Dr. Banner Elk, NC 28604. ATT: Chase Palm.

Festival PhotoMost of the vendors from last year will be returning and applications for new vendors are being accepted as well. The festival seeks products organic in nature, fine arts and crafts, lotions potions and farmers market type items. Vendors with dried herbs will be accepted but vendors with live herb plants will not.
